Shabbir Ahmed

Creative Director, FilmStrips Entertainment

Shabbir Ahmed founded FilmStrips Entertainment in 2013 with a simple belief: the stories that matter most deserve to be told well. Over more than a decade behind the camera and in the edit suite, he has shaped FilmStrips into one of Dhaka's trusted names in documentary filmmaking and development-sector communication — bringing the discipline of a filmmaker and the sensitivity of a storyteller to every project.

Shabbir's path into filmmaking began with a degree in Film and Media (Film Direction) from Stamford University Bangladesh, and took an early international turn as Post Production Manager at The Filim Company in London and Dhaka. That experience shaped the standard he holds every FilmStrips production to: world-class craft, delivered with local understanding.

Today, Shabbir leads FilmStrips' work with some of the most respected names in Bangladesh's development sector — BRAC, BRAC HCMP, Plan International Bangladesh, ILO, UNDP, Oxfam, and others — directing documentaries, training films, and animated content that translate complex programmes into stories people connect with. His portfolio ranges from intimate, community-level storytelling in Cox's Bazar to large-scale institutional documentaries and animated explainers, always grounded in the same principle: authenticity first, craft always.

Shabbir moves easily between grassroots field production and boardroom-level creative strategy — a range that lets FilmStrips take a story from first shoot to final delivery without losing what made it worth telling in the first place.
